Community
Our Focus on COMMUNITY
At Weinberger's, we believe there are so many ways to help make our community a great place for everyone. We're proud - and very pleased - to be a part of these organizations and efforts.
Family YMCA of Greater Augusta's A Place to Dream
We believe by providing less fortunate children the opportunity to sleep in a real bed, that they don’t have to share, will create a ripple effect in their lives and our community – better concentration leading to better performance in school, that could lead to more opportunities as they get older, helping to launch themselves out of poverty and break the cycle. To pursue this goal we have partnered with the Family YMCA of Augusta's A Place to Dream program and have already begun providing beds to kids in need!
The First Stop Center
We donated furniture for the ''living room'' at the First Stop of United Way. The First Stop Center partners will provide services including rent and utility assistance, housing supportive services, the HOPWA (Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS) program, the HOPE program focused on preventing foreclosure and first time home buying, application support for enrollment into Peachcare, Medicaid, food stamps, etc, legal services and employment services for those with barriers. This room will give people a nice place to sit and take advantage of these necessary services.
COLUMBIA COUNTY WRAPAROUND PROGRAM
This incredible program recognizes that at-risk high school students need support beyond the classroom to achieve their full potential and to earn their diplomas. Wraparound sets up warm, welcoming in-school student centers where all students can get the support and services they need. Weinberger's helped furnish centers in six high schools.
RICHMOND COUNTY WRAPAROUND PROGRAM
This unique program offers students in Richmond County various resources like a food pantry, clothing closet, laundry service, mental health services and more. In order to increase success and development within the classroom, students need plenty of support outside the classroom. Weinberger’s is honored to have been involved in supporting this effort. By donating furniture for the “chill-out room,” students now have an inviting space to work on school projects or socialize in a safe, warm environment after school.

THE AUGUSTA TRAINING SHOP
The non-profit work center trains and employs mentally and physically challenged adults to repair and restore furniture, giving them greater dignity and independence. The Weinberger family and employees happily support this wonderful organization by donating time and money. We also host in-store fundraisers each year.
Empty Bowl
Each year, we help sponsor a community Empty Bowl event to support the work of the Golden Harvest Food Bank and the Augusta Jewish Community Center.

Furniture Donations
It was a huge thrill to be selected to provide all the furniture for a deserving Augusta family featured on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition! We also regularly donate furniture to the local Junior League and Urban Ministries.
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Weinberger's is an active member in the both Richmond and Columbia counties.
